First Class are doing the 'Fit 4 Class' Primary School Athletics Programme as part of our PE. Fit 4 Class is a 10 week programme that introduces primary school children to athletics in a fun, engaging and non-competitive environment. It's great fun so far!

First Class had a wonderful morning's entertainment today thanks to some children from Fifth Class. Kate, Saoirse, Emma, Mel, Rachel and Kian performed a piece from 'Riddles in the Dark' by JRR Tolkien for us. Saoirse was Gollum, Emma was Billbo Baggans and Kate, Rachel, Mel and Kian were the narrators. They put on a great show and we really enjoyed it!
As part of our transport theme the children wrote about their journey to school and drew pictures of what they see along the way including Annaduff Church.
First Class went on an adventure today! We went down to the N4 main road to do a traffic survey. We did the survey for 10 minutes and we worked in pairs. We felt very important with our hi-vis jackets and clipboards! We saw 40 cars, 1 bus, 10 vans, 9 lorries, no motorbikes, no bicycles and 1 tractor. Some of the people who passed by beeped at us! On the way back to school we looked at the leaves falling off the trees. October is the month of the Rosary and in First Class we have been learning how to say the Rosary. To say a decade of the Rosary you make the Sign of the Cross, pray one Our Father, pray ten Hail Marys, pray one Glory be to Father and then you make the Sign of the Cross to finish. Some children brought in their own Rosary Beads and we went to the Church to say a decade of the Rosary..
