We are taking part in the Food Dudes Healthy Eating Programme. Food Dudes is a programme developed to encourage children to eat more fruit and vegetables both in school and at home. It is based on positive role models , repeated tasting and rewards and so far the children are really enjoying tasting and eating the fruit and vegetables each day. They are especially having great fun trying out the vegetables they have never tried before like Mange Tout!! After tasting the fruit and veg children will be encouraged to bring at least 1 fruit and 1 vegetable to school with them everyday from home.
Here are some of the girls and boys eating their lovely fruit and veg!

During the month of November we remember all our loved ones who are no longer with us. We created a 'Garden of Remembrance' in our classroom. We all designed a flower and put the name of someone close to us who has died on it. We said a special prayer during the month for all those who have died.
This week we are celebrating science week with lots of different activities.
One of our homework tasks is to pick an experiment to show to the class. The children then talk about the science behind what they are demonstrating! Did you know that today is World Kindness Day? We came up with some great ideas of how we can be kind to each other. One simple way is to smile at someone. We completed a Selfie ‘Steem activity where we identified the positive qualities of others in our classroom. As part of our homework we did Random Acts of Kindness! :)
4th Class are working on the Headbomz programme at the moment.
Headbomz is a new initiative from ISPCC Childline. It is aimed at children aged eight to ten years-old, usually children in second to fourth class, to encourage them to talk about their feelings. You can view the video by clicking this link: https://headbomz.ie/ |
