Yesterday we had a number of presentations in the GP room. The boys footballers received their runners-up medals from their recent county final. Áine collected the cup as the winning captain of the girls' school league, Ewan accepted the cup on Callum's behalf as the vice-captain of the winners of the boys' school league, Leah captained her team to victory in the girls' basketball league and Adam's team won the boys' league.
The final award of the day was presented to Tommie, who became the second recipient of the Jack McNally Cup. Congratulations to all! Congratulations to this year's 6th class who had their graduation mass in St Mary's Church this morning! We'll be sad to lose these wonderful students but we look forward to following all their successes in the future!
Boys and girls from third to sixth class enjoyed a lovely morning in the grounds of Lough Rynn today. We were invited to take part in a special run with many other schools from all across the county.
Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class had a great day on their school tour at Tullyboy Farm. Check out some photos from the day below!
The HSE have asked us to pass on the following message to all parents and guardians:
There is currently a Measles outbreak in Europe and the WHO recommend that anybody who is not vaccinated/protected should contact their doctor and receive an MMR vaccine before travelling to any of the European countries that are affected by the current Measles outbreak. The latest information is available at this link. For team photos, please visit the 'Extra-curricular' section of the website, or click the button below.
Last Sunday's Colour Run was a massive success, raising over €1500. A massive thank you to all who took part and all who helped out on the day. Excitement is building for this year's Colour Run, which takes place this Sunday at 12pm. Last year's run was a huge success and raised enough money to purchase two sets of jerseys! This year we are raising money for drama classes which will take place in the next academic year. The run will begin at 12pm but registration will take place between 11.30am and 11.45am. Participants are welcome to run, walk or push. The cost is €10 per adult, €5 per child or €20 per family. Remember to wear a white t-shirt. See you on Sunday!
There was great excitement in school today when our new football jerseys arrived. The boys and girls worked very hard last year on a number of fundraising initiatives to pay for the jerseys, including our School Colour Run. The children are very excited to try them out this week in their matches. The boys team play tonight at home to Gaelscoil, while the girls team play tomorrow against Fenagh. Best of luck to both teams!
