We were delighted to welcome Marian Harkin MEP to our school on Friday 15th June. Ms Harkin told us about her work in the European Parliament and we asked her lots of interesting questions about her job! Then Ms Harkin asked us about the projects we did for The Blue Star Programme and she presented us with our European Union flag for completing the programme. We would like to thank Ms Harkin very much for visiting us, we really enjoyed the afternoon.
We had a wonderful Parents' Afternoon to showcase our work for the Blue Star Programme today. We invited parents to visit our classrooms to see all our projects and art work that we have completed over the last few months. The children were very proud to show off their work. There were displays, projects, photograph slideshows, PowerPoint presentations, children dressed in French clothing and Kahoot! quizzes on iPads among other activities. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to all the parents. Europe Day is celebrated across Europe every year on 9th May. It celebrates peace and co-operation amongst European countries. We celebrated Europe Day in school today with a ‘Handshake for Europe’ where everyone shook hands with each other in a spirit of solidarity.
Congratulations and well done to Kate O'Reilly in First Class who won first prize in the junior section of Mulvey's colouring competition to celebrate their 50 years in business.
