When our class got the Primary Planet, Ms. Gunning asked us to enter a competition. We had to write a short story which was less than 500 words. My story was about a girl being bullied at school and she was too afraid to tell. The theme was `have the guts to do right thing` no matter what. I emailed my story to the Primary Planet. A few weeks later, I got a letter from the Primary Planet saying that I was 1 of the 10 authors in Ireland. I was delighted.

By Kirsten This year 5th and 6th class are making their Confirmation on the 10th of March. We’ve been learning a lot at school and at the meetings. We have our own Confirmation books with lots of pictures and writing. It was great to hear that we will be wearing whatever we would like, everyone was happy about that! We’ve been learning a lot about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. There are 36 children making their Confirmation this year. We are all looking forward to the 10th of March 2017.
By Niamh, Molly and Adam. In October we got our new laptops. We share the laptops with Mrs Brogan’s class. We used the laptops for researching about North America and the presidents of Ireland. We also used the laptops to do PowerPoint presentations North America. Mrs Brogan’s class did PowerPoints on Mexico. Masonite gave us a cheque of €800 for the laptops.
By Liam and Ben For one night of homework Miss Gunning-McEvoy’s class chose a story from the Primary Planet and made a report on it in their own words. Then we read our reports in front of the class. Before we read them Miss Gunning-McEvoy put on the music from the news. Aesha took pictures too. It was really fun and everyone enjoyed doing it. By Aesha, Laura and Callum We did a PowerPoint on North America because Donald Trump is going to be the new president of the United States of America. For the PowerPoints we had to research things and then type them out on a laptop. Then we designed the background of the PowerPoint. Then we presented them to the teacher and the class. By Daniel, Adam and Josh .Since Donald Trump became President, 5th and 6th class decided to do a project on America. We worked in pairs to make a list of all 50 states of America. We used our Atlas to help us. It was hard but fun. By Aesha, Laura and Callum In November we did a PowerPoint about North America because Donald Trump was going to be America’s new president. We typed about America’s Food, Capital City, History and Monuments. After we were done, we showed the other half of Fifth Class, and Fifth showed us the PowerPoint they did on Mexico.
We drew our polar bears and we used white paper, black card and blue paper. We drew them with chalk and black oil pastels. Our polar bears are white and have big black eyes, black noses and black scarves. There are white snowflakes and wind.
By Paige and Dylan We have been writing and typing for this website for the past few weeks. We wrote about our art and work that we had been doing and then someone would put it on the website.
By Aine, Ciara, Clara and Kirsten For one of our English stations we do oral work with Ms Kielty, and on the other two stations we do story sparkers and reading cards. When we are finished reading we do our handwriting. We do English stations at 2:00 until 3:00 on Tuesdays.
By Rory and Molly In November 2016, the whole class went swimming in Longford swimming pool because it was part of the school curriculum. We went on a Tuesday every week for 6 weeks. We left at half eleven in the morning, and we would come back at 2 in the afternoon. There were four levels: level 1, level 2, level 3 and level four. Level 1 was for beginners and level 4 was for advanced swimmers. On the last day we went playing in the playground before swimming. It was very fun and we all enjoyed it!
