We all have Hi-Vis jackets now and we are going to wear them to school in the mornings and home in the evenings because it's getting darker now that Winter is on the way. The Hi-Vis jackets make us much easier to see and we feel safer when we are walking outside.
On Friday during Maths Week First and Second Class went on a Maths Trail around the School and Church grounds. We had to find the answers to lots of questions. We had to count the number of windows in the Church and the number of wheels on all the cars parked outside the school. We had to look for 2D and 3D shapes around the school. We worked in groups and we felt very important with our clipboards!
During Maths Week we played with Maths games and activities. We practised our counting, adding and shapes. At PE we played Maths games too like Hopscotch and 10 Pin Bowling, we had to add up the numbers on the bottles we knocked down. We had lots of fun!
We use Give Me 5 in our classroom. When teacher wants to tell us something important she says "Give me 5" and then there are 5 things that we do. We keep our hands still, we look at teacher, we listen to teacher, we have our mouths closed and we make sure our brain boxes are switched on! We are very good at it and it works really well.
